Provides Full Body Analysis
The BF950 Diagnostic Bathroom Scale is designed to help you maintain a healthy weight, or monitor your weight loss or weight gain progress. When used with the free Beurer Health Manager app, the scale keeps track of your:
- Weight
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Body fat
- Body water
- Muscle percentage
- Bone mass
- Daily calorie requirements
What makes this Diagnostic Bathroom Scale different from most bathroom scales is the calculation of Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Active Metabolic Rate (AMR). BMR denotes the basic level of your metabolism – the calories your body needs simply to stay alive, while AMR denotes the total metabolic rate, including physical activity – your actual daily calorie requirements.

Pregnancy Mode for Controlled Weight Gain
Controlled weight gain is necessary for a healthy pregnancy, and the Diagnostic Bathroom Scale allows you to keep track of body weight even when you're expecting. What makes it different from standard mode is that pregnancy mode doesn't involve BIA analysis.
What Is BIA?
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a commonly used method for estimating body composition, in particular body far. This is done with imperceptible electrical current that is passed through your body. Lean tissue is over 70% water, while fat is low in water, thus the resistance to the flow of electrical current measured by the electrodes can be used to calculate body composition.
During pregnancy your body composition is greatly altered, with body water levels increasing significantly, and returning to your pre-pregnancy values within 60 days after delivery. Due to this, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis during pregnancy might not lead to most accurate results.
